Herzog Transit Services,Inc. <br /> Job Title: Maintainer Reports To: Equipment Supervisor <br /> FLSA Status; Non-Exempt Job Code: <br /> Division/Dept.: Mechanical Reviewed/Updated: 05/25/2016 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Performs inspections,general maintenance and repairs on rail equipment, including management <br /> of machine setup,troubleshooting,repairs and preventive maintenance service. Main duties are <br /> primarily standard and repetitious in nature. Works under direct supervision of Equipment <br /> Supervisor. <br /> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • Assists Equipment Supervisor. <br /> • Performs daily inspection of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems on diesel <br /> locomotives and passenger railcars (rail equipment). <br /> • Conducts both interior and exterior inspections on rail equipment as required by federal <br /> and state regulatory agencies as well as company implemented policies and procedures. <br /> • Completes equipment inspection forms,work order forms and other forms as required. <br /> • Prioritizes and completes repairs within scheduled allotted time in response to defects <br /> noted on train crew daily inspection report. <br /> • Completes assigned repairs in an efficient and timely manner. <br /> • Cleans and maintains work area,tools and shop equipment. <br /> • Operates locomotives with or without attached passenger railcars within the maintenance <br /> facility. <br /> • Services restrooms on rail equipment including waste removal,potable water and biocide <br /> replenishment. <br /> • Participates in and successfully completes required on-going training and periodic <br /> written,oral and hands-on testing. <br /> • Assists Maintenance Mechanic in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical <br /> equipment. <br /> • Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs of rail equipment,while in service and/or out of <br /> service. Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of rail equipment while in service <br /> and/or out of service. <br /> • Performs mechanic skills including,but not limited to,mechanical, electrical,pneumatic <br /> and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of rail equipment. <br />
