Herzog Transit Services,Inc. <br /> Job Title: Service Maintainer Reports To: Equipment Supervisor <br /> FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Code: <br /> Division/Dept.: Mechanical Reviewed/Updated: 05/26/2016 <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> Performs maintenance, inspection and repair on commuter rail cars and locomotives,as well <br /> as other duties as assigned. Working under the general direction of Equipment Supervisor <br /> and Maintainer. <br /> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> • Performs daily inspection of mechanical,electrical and pneumatic systems on diesel <br /> locomotives and passenger railcars(rail equipment)using written task list within a <br /> specified time period. <br /> • Conducts both interior and exterior inspections on rail equipment as required by <br /> federal and state regulatory agencies as well as company implemented policies and <br /> procedures. <br /> • Completes equipment inspection forms, work order forms and other formes as <br /> required. <br /> • Prioritizes and completes repairs within scheduled allotted time in response to defects <br /> noted on crew daily inspection report. <br /> • Completes assigned repairs in an efficient and timely manner. <br /> • Operates basic hand tools including digital multimeters,pneumatic tools and testing <br /> equipment in a safe,proficient manner. <br /> • Cleans and maintains work area,tools and shop equipment. <br /> • Work is performed both individually and within a group. <br /> • Operates as certified locomotive engineer moving equipment within the service <br /> facility. <br /> • Sei vices restrooms on rail equipment including waste removal,potable water and <br /> biocide replenishment. <br /> • Assists Maintainer,Equipment Supervisor and Manager of Equipment, as instructed. <br /> • Complete required periodic testing and training. <br /> • Participates in and successfully completes required on-going training and periodic <br /> written, oral and hands-on testing. <br /> • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. <br /> • Able to perform in depth troubleshooting and repair. <br />
