If a continued danger is not present, DO NOT move
injured employees. If the scene is unstable, or if there is a clear and present
danger to employees at the site, evacuate the site immediately.
7.3 If it is safe, isolate and secure units that could be affect by the explosion, shut off
all equipment and take steps to ensure a zero energy state at the site.
7.4 All Sims Metal Management NW personnel on site should proceed to the rally
point and await roll call. If the rally point is within a dangerous area due to
changes in scene conditions, withdraw to a safe location and attempt to locate
and contact the Emergency Coordinator as soon as possible.
7.5 In the event that domestic terrorism or deliberate attack is suspected as being
the cause of the explosion contact the proper authorities and report the suspicion
immediately. DO NOT re-enter the scene or disturb any potential evidence. Be
alert for secondary explosive devices and stay out of the explosion area.
7.5.1 If a Sims Metal Management NW employee observed the explosion
directly and was not injured, that employee should report his observations
directly to his supervisor immediately.
7.5.2 If a device is observed in place and is suspected of being incendiary or
explosive in nature, the employee discovering the device is to retreat from
the device and sound the alarm to all personnel on site immediately.
