0 <br />Sims Metal Management <br />• <br />8.3.2 Notify the Emergency Coordinator immediately. <br />Emergency Response <br />June 2010 <br />8.3.3 Call 911 immediately for emergency assistance. 911 are to be notified on <br />all accidents, regardless of cause or severity, for an accident report. <br />8.3.4 For an accident involving a chemical release, including spilled diesel fuel, <br />refer to section 5.0 above. <br />8.3.5 Sims Metal Management NW drivers should note the following <br />information if uninjured: <br />8.3.5.1 Names of all parties involved <br />8.3.5.2 Cause of accident (Not fault) <br />8.3.5.3 Name of Witness (es) <br />8.3.5.4 Makes, models, colors, and year of all vehicles involved <br />8.3.5.5 License number and state of all vehicles involved <br />8.3.5.6 Description of accident area and events <br />8.3.6 An accident report must be completed in detail and submitted to the <br />SHEC Coordinator within immediately. <br />9.0 Chemical Exposure <br />9.1 Use proper chemical handling and hot -zone entry practices! In the event of an <br />accidental chemical exposure, the first priority is to identify the chemical in <br />question and ensure proper hazardous materials emergency procedures are <br />followed. <br />9.1.1 If a victim is incapacitated, call 911 immediately and begin entry <br />preparations at once. <br />9.1.2 If a chemical exposure is a direct result of a spill refer to Section 5.0 <br />above for Hazardous Materials release operational guidelines. <br />9.1.3 If necessary, begin evacuation and isolation procedures and mobilize a <br />response to a hazardous materials release. If called for, withdraw from <br />the site to prevent further injury to unexposed personnel. <br />9.1.4 DO NOT enter a hot zone without proper PPE and decontamination and <br />rescue measures in place. <br />9.2 Remove the victim from the hazard area using decontamination procedures (if <br />called for). <br />9.3 Remove all contaminated clothing and items from the victim. Decontaminate <br />using an emergency shower or other standard decontamination method. <br />9.4 If possible protect the victim's modesty by covering the victim with a blanket or <br />otherwise removing them from public observation. <br />10 <br />
