The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br />addressed for ASSOCIATED TRACTOR SVC INC as of August13, 2018. <br />Open violations from August 12, 2016 inspection <br />Violation #605 - Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br />-A drum of used oil and used oil filters was observed in near the used oil tank with no labeling. <br />-A 55 gallon blue and white steel drum and a white poly drum of used antifreeze were observed behind the shop <br />with no hazardous property and no accumulation start dates; a label on the secondary containment listed the <br />accumulation start date 5/14/15. <br />-According to Larry, the shop employee, metal fines from metal grinding are vacuumed into an unlabeled metal bin <br />on site and transferred to a plastic bucket for disposal approximately once a year or as needed. <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br />- the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />- name and address of generator <br />- hazardous properties (ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br />- physical state (liquid, solid) <br />- composition (contents) <br />- accumulation start date <br />Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required <br />information. <br />Violation #608 - Failed to properly manage used oil and fuel filters. <br />Used oil filters were observed stored in an open, unlabeled drum of used oil. Used oil filters shall be drained of <br />free-flowing oil, stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an <br />accumulation start date. Immediately drain all used oil filters, place in properly closed and labeled containers, and <br />ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this way. <br />Violation #709 - Failed to store used aerosol cans in an accumulation container. <br />Ten aerosol cans were observed on the floor of the shop, uncontainerized. The three that had visible tops had <br />missing actuators. Several aerosol cans were observed on the ground in the yard around and under the <br />equipment. Waste aerosol cans shall be accumulated in containers. Immediately place these waste aerosol cans <br />in a structurally sound, compatible container. <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />
