Make sure that at least <br />the following are discussed: <br />• Sediment — yes, dirt! <br />p • Oils, greases, fuel <br />�d • Antifreeze <br />Metals <br />• Acids <br />• Waste Water <br />• Detergents (Soap) <br />• Debris/Trash <br />Why do we care? <br />Any rain that discharges off of our site goes directly to the environment, whether it is directly into the ground or <br />into our streams and lakes. These are the very streams and lakes that we fish and swim in. Next time you get oil <br />on the ground, think to yourself- Would I want my kids swimming in a lake with that in it? <br />How can I help? <br />The answer is: PREVENT, PREVENT, PREVENT <br />1. PREVENT any and all pollutants from ever getting on the ground <br />2. PREVENT any accidental spills or leaks from ever coming into contact with rain water <br />3. PREVENT any contaminated rain water from leaving your site <br />We have Best Management Practices (BMPs) to help us prevent this pollution from occurring. The following <br />are our mandatory BMPs. Discuss the applicable BMPs with each employee that is responsible: <br />• All wastes stored inside or undercover, on a pad <br />• All waste containers are stored with secondary containment <br />• All waste containers are labeled with waste name/type and storage start date <br />• Waste containers are clean, dry, and free of residues and debris <br />• Waste storage areas are clean, dry and free of spills and debris <br />• Draining activities take place only on a covered and/or bermed pad <br />• Dismantling activities take place on a covered and/or bermed pad (the only exception is when customers are <br />doing the dismantling) <br />• Operational activities take place only in designated areas per site map <br />• Fluids are drained within 20-30 days from receipt and always prior to storage <br />• All fluid bearing and oily parts are stored undercover and off the ground (includes radiators <br />• All vehicles and all parts are stored off the ground <br />• Vehicles are stores with hoods, doors, and trunks closed <br />• Vehicles and parts are stored only in designated areas <br />• Sediment filtration devices are installed and maintained and all discharge and run-on locations <br />
