CLARK DR., STOCKTON CA <br /> AUGUST 11, 2008 <br /> NOTICE OF VIOLATION; <br /> # 12. CCR, section 66265.31 — Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a HW. <br /> The area around the car crusher and area where engines are removed from auto bodies <br /> has oil staining in the soil. Maintain this area so that releases of hazardous wastes are <br /> minimized to release to the environment. Provide training to all employees handling <br /> hazardous wastes regarding proper handling and minimizing the release to the <br /> environment. Provide documentation that the noted areas have been managed properly. <br /> Correct immediately. Class II Violation <br /> #16. CCR, section 66265.33 – Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems, <br /> spill control, decontamination equipment. <br /> The spill control equipment (secondary containment) located in the drain rack area for the <br /> poly tanks was not maintained to be free of liquid. Remove all HW from spill <br /> containment and manage properly. Provide a copy of the disposal receipt and <br /> documentation that the spill control equipment has been maintained properly. Class II <br /> Violation <br /> # 20. CCR, section 66262.34 – Repeat Violation– Failed to properly label containers of <br /> HW. <br /> (14) 55-gallon containers of hazardous waste and located throughout the property, were <br /> not labeled properly with the hazardous properties most of which were corrected onsite.. <br /> (8) poly. tanks in the drain rack area were not completely labeled. A bin container of <br /> used oil near the front entrance was not labeled properly. A handout was provided on the <br /> items required for proper labeling of hazardous waste container being stored was <br /> provided to Juan. <br /> Provide documentation that all containers of hazardous wastes have been labeled <br /> properly. Class II Violation <br /> #21. CCR, section 66265.173 (a) – Repeat Violation – Failed to keep containers of HW <br /> closed except when adding or removing HW. <br /> (1) 55-gallon container of used brake fluid was not kept closed.
