Used fluorescent bulbs were observed in an open box and uncontainerized without labels in the <br /> shop storage building. A generator shall label or mark universal waste with the words 'Universal Waste' <br /> and the type of waste (batteries, mercury containing equipment, lamps/bulbs, electronic devices, CRTs, <br /> CRT glass, aerosol cans). Immediately label these wastes and ensure that all universal wastes are <br /> labeled with the required information. <br /> 84. Facility was unable to demonstrate the amount of time the used fluorescent bulbs were stored on <br /> site. According to Mr. Estevez, they may have been left over from the previous owner. A generator of <br /> universal waste(alkaline batteries, mercury containing equipment, fluorescent bulbs, electronic devices, <br /> CRTs, aerosol cans) shall accumulate universal waste for no longer than one year from the date the <br /> waste was generated. Immediately dispose of this waste as universal waste and submit a copy of the <br /> disposal record to the EHD by February 20, 2011. <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification to the EHD by September 24, <br /> 2011 along with a statement documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each <br /> violation and any supporting paperwork. <br /> "This facility opened in January 2011. <br /> Note: (corrected on site) An emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan information was <br /> lacking.
