The reporting <br />year for this document is Calendar Year, (CY) 2010 and the baseline year is 2006. <br />I1. Metal <br />parts are cleaned through a multi step process including the following: <br />• Ultrasonic aqueous degreasing, <br />• Washing with commercial industrial cleaners (such as 909, B.N., Blue Gold, and <br />Mirachem 500 cleaners), <br />• Surface cleaning with acidic solutions, and <br />• DI -water and tap water rinsing. <br />The decrease in the waste quantities for this waste stream is primarily due to decrease in <br />operations, and one of the treatment units, FTU 002 in B25, was officially closed in <br />September 2010 and removed in October 2010. <br />For LLNL <br />1.2 Tsrnk Farm Auueous Solution Treatment <br />LLNL generated 142,230 during 2006 and 18,361 lbs of aqueous solution during 2010 <br />from its wastewater treatment operation at Building 695 (B695) located at the <br />Decontamination and Waste Treatment Facility (DWTF). Aqueous waste generated by <br />programmatic activities is sent to the DWTF for processing. This waste stream is <br />comprised of various generating processes and in addition can vary widely from year to <br />year, based on programmatic activities. <br />The treatment process involved chemical preparation and rotary drum vacuum filtration <br />without evaporation, which is a part of the wastewater treatment within the DWTF. The <br />treated wastewater met discharge limits and was sent to sewer. The 18,361 lbs generated <br />during 2010 represents a decrease of 87% from the amount generated in 2006. This <br />reduction is mainly due to a smaller quantity of waste corning in for treatment and <br />reduced waste treatment activities at the DWTF as well as implementation of the Best <br />September 1, 2011 SB 14 Report 3 September 1, 2011 SB 74 Report <br />
