Emergency Escape Procedures & Emergency Escape Routes <br /> 1. Emergency escape route maps are posted throughout the facility near exits, on <br /> bulletin boards, in the customer lounge, and near the time clock. These escape <br /> route maps identify the nearest exits out of your work area, the primary and <br /> secondary routes out of your work area and the designated primary and <br /> secondary assembly areas for your department. Ensure the assembly area you <br /> select is upwind from any exposure. <br /> 2. All employees are responsible for: <br /> Ci reviewing the evacuation route map for their work area; <br /> being aware of the location of the nearest exits and primary and secondary <br /> evacuation routes out of their work area(s); <br /> knowing the location of the primary and secondary assembly area(s) <br /> designated for their department; <br /> C knowing the sounds and/or lights of the alarm(s) in their work area(s). <br /> 3. Personnel will attempt to evacuate through the nearest designated exit. <br /> 4. The public address system is used to alert employees of any potential <br /> emergency that might possibly affect the employees. <br /> 5. Employees who become aware of an emergency condition will alert other <br /> employees by issuing a verbal warning and advising the employees of the <br /> appropriate action to take, such as evacuate or shelter-in-place. <br /> 6. Hand held personal communication radios are used to alert employees of any <br /> potential emergency that might possibly affect the employees. <br /> 7. The fire warning alarm is a large bell that emits a ringing sound when any <br /> sprinkler head is flowing water. <br /> 8. Smoke detectors will alert employees of any potential fire emergency. The <br /> smoke detectors emit a steady loud tone. <br /> 9.
