Procedures to be followed by Employees Who Remain to Operate Critical <br /> Operations Before they Evacuate <br /> 1. Procedures for shutdown of critical equipment or processes are posted at the <br /> tool or piece of equipment requiring action before exiting the facility. <br /> 2. Only those individuals who have been designated and thoroughly trained in the <br /> emergency shut down procedures of critical equipment or processes will remain <br /> behind during an evacuation of the facility. <br /> 3. Individuals who shut down critical equipment or processes will only do so if <br /> shutdown can be accomplished safely. If the critical equipment or process is <br /> involved in the emergency or is in the hazard area, evacuate the area <br /> immediately. <br /> 4. Individuals who have been designated to shut down critical equipment or <br /> processes who believe they require additional training, should contact their <br /> immediate supervisor. <br /> Ill. Procedures to Account for all Employees After Evacuation <br /> 1. Once you are safely out of the building/facility, promptly go to your designated <br /> assembly area or alternate assembly area. If you do not make it to your <br /> designated assembly area, it will be assumed that you are still in the facility. <br /> 2. Each work area supervisor/leader will account for their employees, including <br /> those in the assembly areas and those employees involved in the shutdown of <br /> critical operations or processes. After evacuation has taken place and the work <br /> area supervisor/leader has accounted for all of the employees they are <br /> responsible for, the supervisor/leader will report to the shift supervisor. If any <br /> employees are not accounted for, report this immediately to the shift supervisor. <br /> (Consider whether unaccounted employees are in other buildings or are off the <br /> facility conducting field operations.) <br /> 3. The shift supervisor is responsible for immediately notifying the ERT and/or local <br /> emergency responders of any missing personnel and their possible location. <br /> IV. Rescue & Medical Duties for Those Employees Who Are to Perform Them <br /> 1. No employees are to attempt any rescue nor conduct any medical care in this <br /> facility. <br /> 2. Employees will not attempt any rescue, unless they have been properly <br /> trained, have the proper equipment and the rescue effort does not place them in <br /> danger. <br /> 3.
