At the t me of inspection, due to the latex paint contaminated water in the storm drain (see Violation#301 below) it cool( not be demonstrated that employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained. The generator must ensure tl all emp ogees who handle hazardous waste are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling and emergency procedlires. Immediately provide training to all employees who handle hazardous waste and submit a copy of the traini records to the EHD. This is a Class II violation. 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. Observed latex paint contaminated water in the basin of one of the storm drains, though the paint did not advance off sit based on observation of the two downgradient storm drains. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean up the spill and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulation Observed contaminated water and residuals removed from drain. Submit a copy of the disposal record of the waste genera ed from the clean up to this office. This is a Class II violation.
