Fremont, Stockton Program: HW <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> CLASS I,CLASS II, or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> NOTES (The following are not violations) <br /> The facility generated 1645 pounds of hazardous waste since opening for business in October 2011. <br /> Facility generates hazardous waste from transmission related auto repair operation. <br /> 301. Used absorbent was observed on the floor around the metal work bench. Facilities shall be <br /> maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to <br /> air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Observed owner <br /> segregated the still usable absorbent for reuse and spent absorbent in hazardous waste container. <br /> Discrepancy was corrected on site. Please be aware that the maximum amount of time hazardous <br /> waste can be store on site is a 180 days. <br /> 605. No hazardous waste label on the two blue rectangular metal containers which the owner stated are <br /> being used for storage of all waste oil on site (see above Item #404). All hazardous waste containers <br /> shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties <br /> 4. physical state <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> The owner demonstrated the used oil had been stored in the containers since early May 2012 after the <br /> oil was picked up by Kern. Owner labeled the containers per this section during this inspection. <br /> Discrepancy was corrected on site. Please be aware that the maximum amount of time hazardous <br /> waste can be store on site is a 180 days. <br /> 608, 610. No label on a 55-gallon drum of commingled used oil and gas filters. Used oil and gas filters <br /> must be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an <br /> accumulation start date. Owner labeled the container during this inspection. Discrepancy was corrected <br /> on site.
