C&S <br />Wholesale <br />Grocers <br />WAREHOUSE SANITATION PROGRAM <br />Appendix 1: Slot Cleaning Equipment and Procedures <br />Required Equipment for Slot Cleaning: <br />1. Pallet Jack. <br />2. Trash Barrel. <br />3. Long handled razor scraper. <br />4. Broom and Dust Pan. <br />5. Mop and mop pail filled with hot water cleaning solution mix <br />6. Personal protective equipment as required by MSDS of those materials being used. <br />7. Heavy duty elbow length rubberized cleaning gloves. <br />8. Steel toed shoes. <br />Slot Cleaning steps <br />Step 1: <br />Remove pallets/product from slot to be cleaned. Place pallets parallel to the <br />aisle to allow for trafficability of the aisle. Product shall be moved from pick slot <br />and/or shrouded to protect from water damage or cleaning chemical <br />contamination <br />Step 2: <br />Examine the slot for any hazards that may exist i.e. insecure pallets above the <br />slot, "hanging" cases, broken glass, leaking cases. Examine the slot for and <br />remove any pest or rodent control devices i.e. glue boards, mechanical traps, <br />pheromone traps. <br />Step 3: <br />Dry sweep slot from rear to front to include the area beyond the pallet stop. <br />Remove any errant or damaged product that may have fallen into the slot. <br />Errant cases will be returned to the pallets they belong, damaged product will <br />be brought to O,S&D. <br />Step 4: <br />Scrape any "shot' stickers which may be stuck to the floor. <br />Wet mop slot from rear to front to include the area beyond the pallet stop and <br />cleaning should extend one foot into the main aisle. Rinse mop frequently. <br />Step 6: <br />Ring -out mop and dry mop the slot to absorb any standing water. <br />Step 7: <br />Clean Rack legs where spillage is evident with a damp sponge. <br />Step 8: <br />Replace any pest or rodent control devices and then replace the pallets in the <br />order and location from which they came. <br />Step 9: <br />Record slot number on slot cleaning schedule.
