C&S <br />Wholesale <br />Grocers <br />WAREHOUSE SANITATION PROGRAM <br />Appendix 2: Sweeper/Scrubber Equipment and Procedures <br />Required equipment: <br />1. Steel toed shoes <br />2. Elbow length rubberized gloves <br />3. Safety glasses <br />Procedures/steps <br />Step 1: <br />Perform an inspection of the equipment for any damage or hazards which may <br />be present. Perform any applicable operator checks i.e. fluid levels, warning <br />and safety devices, required by the equipment manufacturer prior to starting. If <br />the operator is unclear as to what checks should be performed he/she should <br />have a Maintenance Mechanic demonstrate these checks for them. Any <br />deficiencies found with the equipment will be immediately reported to the <br />maintenance shop lead person. <br />Ste 2: <br />Fill the machine with the proper fluid types and quantities. <br />Ste 3: <br />Proceed to the area to be cleaned. <br />Step 4: <br />Engage the cleaning devices. Moderate speed to ensure that no standing water <br />remains behind the machine and that the machine is effectively cleaning the <br />floor. The operator will pay particular attention to others in the aisle. Any large <br />debris to include shrink wrap, pallet boards, tape and slip sheets will require the <br />operator to stop the machine and pick up the debris. Any debris found in the <br />aisle can be disposed of in the trash bag found at the end of each aisle. <br />Step 5: <br />The operator will alerted when the solution tank is empty or the pick-up tank is <br />full. The operator will proceed to the scrubber station and drain the pick up <br />tank. The operator will inspect the machine for any debris which has become <br />lodged in the machine. Once draining has finished the operator will either <br />power wash or hose wash the pick up tank and scrubber brushes. The <br />machine will be filled with cleaning solution. <br />Step 6: <br />The scrubber will be backed out of the scrubber station. the operator will clean <br />the scrubber station with either a power washer' or a hose. <br />Ste 7: <br />Return to aisle where cleaning stopped. <br />Step 8: <br />At the end of the operators shift he/she will dump the pick-up tank and clean <br />the scrubber station.
