As you are aware,
ExxonMobil submitted a letter to the CR WQCB-CVR dated June 12,2006 concerning the above referenced site
explaining that, since all previous investigations at the site were performed by others, ExxonMobil presumed
that the other parties listed on the letter were performing the requested work outlined in your letter.
ExxonMobil indicated that a review of available files would be conducted to determine the site operational and
ownership history.
ETIC has performed an expedited file review of the CRWQCB-CVR files and the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Files. ETIC has also obtained a historical title search for all previous property owners
for the site. Upon review of all of the available documents in these files,it appears that Mobil never owned the
property, and that the station was operated by various parties under various names which sometimes included
Mobil's name. Additionally, the report prepared by Upgtadient Environmental Consultants in 1994
documenting the UST removal from the site is entitled"Tank Removal Report BP Gas Station". This report
states that"the station was sold to British Petroleum (BP) in the 1980's, and operated until 1990,when it was
converted to an automobile repair garage."
In order to respond in an informed manner to your requests, ExxonMobil is currently reviewing both public
records as well as internal ExxonMobil records to assess the operational history and any available lease
documentations concerning the site_ The public records that ExxonMobil is currently in the process of
reviewing include the San Joaquin County Assessor's Office, the City of Stockton Fire Department, Building
Department, and Planning Department, the State of California UST Fund, and the Orphan UST Fund. In
addition we are obtaining an EDR Radius Map with Geocheck,a City Directory Search,a Sanborn Map Report,
Aerial Photo Reviews,Historical Topographic Map Reviews.
In order for ExxonMobil to determine the appropriate next steps, ExxonMobil is requesting more time to
perform a complete Phase I Assessment of the site. ExxonMobil is requesting an extension from July 15,2006
date referenced in your initial letter and proposes the fallowing schedule outlined below:
