8.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE INITIATION <br /> Emergency Response Team members will respond upon hearing the Fire/Evacuation <br /> horn or by being notified via the plant communication system. Emergency Response <br /> Team members primary assembly point will be the Sulfuric Acid Control Room. If <br /> conditions do not allow entrance into the Sulfuric Plant, secondary response area will <br /> be the production shift supervisors office. The Contingency 'Plan for Emergency <br /> Response will be implemented in the following situations. <br /> 8. 1 Fire/Explosion <br /> 8.1.1 A fire that is large enough that one fire extinguisher cannot extinguish it <br /> or it takes more than one minute to extinguish. <br /> 8.1.2 A fire that could result in the release of hazardous materials. <br /> 8.1.3 Conditions where the ,possibility of explosion exists due to ignition of <br /> flammable liquids or gases. <br /> 8.2 Hazardous Materials Release <br /> 8.2.1 The release or threatened release of hazardous materials or hazardous <br /> waste which may expose employees or the community to hazardous <br /> levels. <br /> 8.2.2 The release or threatened release of hazardous materials outside of its <br /> secondary containment and may cause soil contamination, water <br /> contamination or air contamination. <br /> 82.3 The uncontrolled release of any toxic gas. <br /> 8.3 Earthquake - The movement of the ground that may result in fires, explosions, <br /> hazardous materials releases or structural damage at any facility. <br /> 8.4 Injury/Illness -Any incident that results in an injury or illness to personnel which <br /> requires medical attention other than basic first aid. <br /> 8.5 Flooding - Flooding as the result of pipe breakage, heavy rainfall and/or river <br /> bank overflows which threatens human health, containment of hazardous <br /> materials, or property. <br /> FRT Contingency Plan Page 8 06/23/99 <br />
