Failed to store Universal Waste (UW) lamps in closed container& labeled as "Universal <br /> Waste - fluorescent tubes". UW lamps were found horizontally adjacent to the open cardboard box that <br /> was not marked as "Universal Waste-fluorescent tubes" located upstairs of the E&I building. Universal <br /> waste lamps shall be contained in a closed container or package that is structurally sound, adequate to <br /> prevent breakage and compatible with the contents of the lamp. Generator shall label or mark universal <br /> waste with the words "Universal Waste" and type of waste (batteries, mercury containing equipment, <br /> lamps/ bulbs, electronic devices, CRTs, CRT glass, aerosol cans). Immediately containerized all <br /> universal waste fluorescent tubes and label the container and ensure all universal waste are labeled. <br /> - Corrected on site. Tubes placed in box and labeled. <br /> Notes: <br /> *Tonage of hazardous waste generated: most of the waste generated was from the demolition of some <br /> of the old equipment, buildings and plants.
