' ARCADIS SOP:Soil Drilling and Sample Collection s <br /> Rev.#: 11 Rev Date: March 3,2009 <br /> Samples selected for laboratory analysis will be handled, packed, and shipped in <br /> ' accordance with the procedures outlined in the Work Plan, FSP,or Chain-of-Custody, <br /> Handling, Packing, and Shipping SOP. <br /> ' A geologist will be onsite during drilling and sampling operations to describe each soil <br /> sample on the soil boring log, including: <br /> • percent recovery; <br /> ' structure and degree of sample disturbance; <br /> • soil type; <br /> • color; <br /> • moisture condition; <br /> ' • density; <br /> • grain-size;. <br /> ' 0 consistency;and <br /> ' 0 other observations, particularly relating to the presence of waste materials <br /> Further details regarding geologic description of soil samples are presented in the Soil <br /> ' Description SOP. <br /> Particular care will be taken to fully describe any sheens observed,oil saturation, <br /> ' staining,discoloration, evidence of chemical impacts,or unnatural materials. <br /> VII. Waste Management <br /> ' Water generated during cleaning procedures will be collected and contained onsite in <br /> appropriate containers for future analysis and appropriate disposal. <br /> ' PPE(such as gloves, disposable clothing,and other disposable equipment)resulting <br /> from personnel cleaning procedures and soil sampling/handling activities will be <br /> ' placed in plastic bags.
