Isar to 1a Iteglonn"Transit district
9. Waste Minimization, Reduction Goals, and Implementation
Schedule
This section of the plan must identify the numerical goals that span over the next
four years and cover the SJRTD's source reduction and waste minimization
efforts (January 1,2003 through December 31 ,2006). This four year numerical
goal represent the SJRTD's intended source reduction and waste minimization
efforts that the SJRTD could optimally strive to achieve over the next four-year
period. The reduction goals for each and very waste stream is the SJRTD's
intended source reduction vision and corporate commitment toward achieving it.
Each and every goal listed in table 3 is intended to reflect the SJRTD's source
reduction and waste minimization measures and does not reflect the economic
turn down and decrease in business volume. The four-year numerical goal is
calculated by using the following formula:
Total weight of hazardous waste reduced by the SJRTD's WM team
X 100
Total weight of hazardous waste generated if source reduction
Measures are not implemented at the SJRTD
Moreover, SB 14 law and its supporting regulations require that generators
develop an implementation schedule and timetable associated with achieving the
interim milestones, key dates, actual milestones, and other activities which are
the steps necessary before any numerical goals can be achieved by the SJRTD.
Table 3 also incorporates the implementation milestones and the associated
milestones and key dates as described above.
39
