A hazardous waste generator shall not treat, store, dispose of, transport or offer for transportation, hazardous waste without an EPA ID number. Immediately contact DTSC and reactivate your EPA ID number and submit evidence to the EHD by 10-7-11 . DTSC's contact number has been provided. Minor-Notice to Comply. 108. Metal fines generated from grinding operations are being recycled as scrap metal without first determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop recycling metal fines, make a hazardous waste determination for the metal fines, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed by 10-7-11. Minor-Notice to Comply. 301. Dark oil stains are on the ground underneath the equipment in the old maintenance shop. A trail of dark oil stains leads from the equipment in the oil maintenance shop north towards the manufacturing building. Dark and wet oil stains are on the ground beneath the saw machine. Dark oil stains are underneath the iron worker machine. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean up the spilled oil and oil stains, and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
