MONITORING AND REPORTING PWRAM NO.5-01-XXX • -2- r y^t <br /> KEARNEY-NATIONAL,INC.AND UPRIGHT CONSTRUCTION 1 <br /> FORMER KEARNEY-KPF FACILITY <br /> GROUNDWATER TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL SYSTEM <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> SYSTEM START UP MONITORING E <br /> • Once the new system is installed, the Discharger shall collect groundwater samples from the <br /> groundwater influent, the treated water exiting the lead treatment vessel, and the treated water exiting <br /> each subsequent treatment vessel. Sampling will occur at system startup, after one, four, 12, and 24 <br /> hours of operation,weekly for the first month, and then monthly, thereafter. Samples will be analyzed <br /> by a State certified laboratory for volatile organic compounds. The Discharger shall report these results <br /> as outlined in the Provisions. <br /> EFFLUENT MONITORING <br /> The effluent samples shall be collected from the exiting sample port of the second treatment vessel for <br /> the following analyses prior to discharge into any injection well: <br /> Type of Sampling Reporting <br /> Constituent Units Sample Frequency Ffequency <br /> Volatile Organic Compoundst µg/1 Grab Monthly Quarterly <br /> Electrical Conductivity(Field) µmhos/cm Grab Monthly Quarterly <br /> Total Dissolved Solids mg/1 Grab Monthly Quarterly A <br /> pH (Field) pH units Grab Monthly Quarterly j <br /> Temperature(Field) °Celsius Grab Monthly Quarterly <br /> Total Volume of Water Treated Gallons Continuous Monthly Monthly <br /> Flow Rate at Time of Sampling gpm Grab Monthly Monthly <br /> Average Flow Rate (since last sampling) gpm Continuous Monthly Monthly <br /> 1 Required analytical method shall be either USEPA Method 8260B or 8021B. The maximum detection limits must meet <br /> the lowest reporting limit in the State Water Resources Control Board Policy for Implementation of Toxics Standard for <br /> Inland Surface Waters,Enclosed Bays and Estuaries of California(Appendix 4,minimum levels)or Department of Health <br /> Services detection limits for purposes of reporting(DLRs). <br /> INJECTION WELL MONITORING <br /> During the injection of treated groundwater into the deep zone well INJ-1, shallow zone wells SMW-1, <br /> SMW-2, SMW-4, and SMW-5, shallow zone piezometers KPS-5, TP-1A, and TP-3A, and/or <br /> intermediate zone wells KEW-lU and KEW-21J, the following monitoring program shall be conducted <br /> at the well head: <br /> Type of Sampling Reporting , <br /> Constituent Units Sample Frequency Frequency <br /> Total Volume of Water Injected gallons Continuous Monthly Monthly <br /> Injection Rate at Time of Sampling gpm Grab Monthly Monthly <br /> Average Injection Rate (since last sampling) gpm Continuous Monthly Monthly <br /> Pressure at Time of Sampling psig Grab Monthly Monthly <br /> Water Level 0.01 feet msl Grab Monthly Monthly + <br />
