b) install a minimum of three monitoring wells to
determine the rate and extent of contamination in the interval
between 70 and 180 feet in depth if geologic' investigations
determine the existence of a water-bearing zone in this
interval. These wells shall be screened for contaminants in
those zones that have the highest potential for contaminant
migration. The zone shall be estimated prior to drilling using
electric and drillers ' logs from on and off-site deep wells.
c) install deep monitoring wells in the lower
water-bearing zone (180 to 220 feet in depth) .
d) submit contaminant concentration contour maps
depicting the extent of hazardous waste constituents in the
groundwater.
3 . 1. 5. Immediately, Respondent shall perform quarterly
water quality sampling and monthly water level measurements.
Because the groundwater flow direction and gradient varies,
Respondent shall conduct monthly water level measurements, place
a continuous recorder on a strategically located on-site well,
and collect, analyze, and compare pumpage records from
surrounding supply wells to on-site data. Analyses for volatile
and semi-volatile organic constituents and heavy metals (those
listed in Section 66699 of Title 22 of the California Code of
Regulations) shall be performed on all groundwater samples for
at least four consecutive quarters (one year) . After at least
one year, the Department may eliminate some or all heavy metal
6
