manufacturing. The parcel of land located northwest of the Kearney-KPF <br /> property is zoned for commercial use, limited manufacturing, and comm- <br /> ercial manufacturing. The land located on the north side of Alpine <br /> Avenue is zoned for residential . (Note: Refer to map attached. ) <br /> Pond 1 is located southeast of the galvanizing building, in the South <br /> central portion of the site, and received wastes from the galvanizing <br /> Process. Pond 2 is located in the area east of the galvanizing building <br /> in the central portion of the site and received wastes from the silver <br /> plating process. The former drummed waste storage area is located east <br /> of the galvanizing building in the Pond 2 area. The former solvent <br /> disposal area is reportedly located east of Pond 2 in the central portion <br /> of the site. <br /> Please see "Closure Plan, Kearney-KPF Facility, Stockton, California", <br /> prepared by Hargis + Associates, Inc. ; May 30, 1989. <br /> 34. Describe the surrounding properties, including information on plants <br /> and animals and any cultural , historical or scenic aspects. Indicate <br /> the type of land use (residential , commercial , etc. ) , intensity of <br /> land use (one-family, apartment, houses, shops, department stores, etc. ) <br /> and scale of development (height, frontage, set-back, rear yard, etc. ) . <br /> Attach photographs of the vicinity. Snapshots or polaroid photos will <br /> be accepted. <br /> The site is bounded on the west by the Southern Pacific Railroad and <br /> on the north by Alpine Avenue. Other industries in the immediate vicinity <br /> of the site include Pennzoil , a facility currently used as a distribution <br /> warehouse, located southeast of the site: Vern the Fender Mender, an <br /> auto body shop located west of the site; and American Forest Products <br /> Company, located west of West Lane. The three properties located to <br /> the northeast and to the south of the site are vacant.
