Quinlan <br /> Hargis + Associates, Inc. <br /> Consultants in Hydrogeology <br /> 2223 Avenida Dr. La Plaza, Suite 300 <br /> La Jolla, California 92037 <br /> Dear Mr. Quinlan: <br /> KEARNEY - KPF CLOSURE PLAN <br /> During the meeting on January 10, 1989 , between representatives <br /> of Kearney, Hargis + Associates, Inc. , and the California <br /> Department of Health Services to discuss the Draft Groundwater <br /> Assessment Plan and the Closure Plan for Kearney-KPF, the <br /> following points were made: <br /> A. Draft Groundwater Assessment Plan. <br /> 1. The Plan does not provide for any Soil Gas Survey <br /> locations in the western region of the facility. It was <br /> agreed upon to add five additional Soil Gas Survey <br /> locations in the western region of the facility. <br /> 2 . The Plan lacks Soil Sample Collection locations along <br /> the eastern and southern boundaries of the facility. It <br /> was agreed upon to substitute one of the proposed <br /> northern boundary Soil Sample Collection locations for <br /> a location along the eastern boundary near the carport, <br /> and to add an additional location along the southern <br /> boundary. <br /> 3 . It was agreed that the soil samples would be analyzed <br /> for organics as well as for metals (8010 and 6010) . <br /> 4 . The Plan lacks well locations north of the site, and <br /> south of the site. It was agreed that there is a need <br /> to establish a cluster of wells in the northern and in <br /> the southern areas in the vicinity of the facility. <br /> 5 . There is no well cluster in the center of the hazardous <br /> waste disposal area. DHS agreed to the proposal of <br /> constructing KI-4 near SMW-5 or TP-JA and a deep well <br /> to form a cluster in the center of the disposal area. <br /> 6.
