CONTINGENCY AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES <br /> GENERAL AND SITE SPECIFIC <br /> The purpose of these procedures is to provide guidance in the event <br /> of an emergency. Erickson's Site Emergency Coordinator will be the <br /> crew leader (Project Manager, Supervisor, Leadman, or Foreman) on <br /> duty when an incident occurs. <br /> An "on-call" company representative will be available by telephone <br /> and/or pager communication 24 hours a day. <br /> A. Coordination Prior to Starting a Job, in the order shown: <br /> 1. Prior to beginning a project with a new client, determine <br /> who will assume the lead on emergency response. <br /> 2 . Obtain the Clients procedures for evacuation and <br /> notification of the appropriate state or local <br /> authorities with designated response roles if their <br /> assistance is needed, i.e. OES, DTSC, police and/or fire <br /> department, ambulance, transportation, etc. <br /> 3 . In the event of emergency, notify Client Emergency <br /> Coordinator and Erickson Operations Management. <br /> 4 . Unless otherwise designated by the client, Erickson will <br /> assume the lead role on emergency response. <br /> B. Response to a Release of Hazardous Materials/Wastes: <br /> 1. Inform Client Emergency Coordinator of the location, <br /> material released, and extent of the release. <br /> 2 . Notify Erickson Operations Management, with all necessary <br /> information including the approximate quantity, the type <br /> of material released, and whether the release has been <br /> corrected or is correctable. Evacuate the immediate area <br /> to an up-wind location from the discharge if the released <br /> material poses a hazardous situation, or if the nature of <br /> the released material is unknown. <br /> 3 . The Client Emergency Coordinator, and/or Erickson <br /> Management representative, must evaluate the release <br /> condition and instruct site personnel on corrective <br /> measures, or call departments with designated response <br /> roles. <br /> 4. Erickson personnel will be available to initiate spill <br /> release abatement or assist the Client as instructed. <br /> 5. If Erickson assumes the lead role, identify the location, <br /> the nature of the emergency such as a release, fire or <br />
