FW_1 TEREX <br />Safe Operating Procedure <br />Puncturing of Aerosol Cans <br />3. <br />The waste container accumulating the aerosol liquid waste is hazardous and must comply with all <br />container requirements. The drum must: <br />a) Be an approved UL listed drum for the waste it is holding. <br />b) Be free of damage. DO NOT use a drum that has any denting, rust or one that cannot <br />maintain a proper seal when closed. <br />c) Must be labeled with a properly filled out Hazardous Waste label. This label at a minimum <br />must include: <br />• Accumulation start date <br />• The words "Hazardous Waste" <br />• Name and address of generator <br />• Hazardous properties <br />• Physical state <br />• Composition <br />d) The label must be legible and shall be replaced if it becomes damaged or faded. <br />e) Container must be on secondary containment if it is within 50' of an exterior door. <br />5. <br />While the unit is accumulating liquid aerosol waste it is considered Satellite Accumulation and <br />must be managed properly. The requirements are: <br />a) The container be in control of the operator <br />b) At or near the point of generation <br />c) Not greater than 55 gallons <br />d) Have the initial date of accumulation <br />e) Not be held on-site for longer than 1 year from initial accumulation date. <br />When the container has reached the 55 gallon maximum capacity it must be moved to the waste <br />accumulation area within 3 days of being filled and marked with the date the quantity was <br />reached. <br />6. <br />A spill kit shall be kept by the container. <br />7. <br />Container shall be inspected weekly to ensure compliance with this program. <br />Maintenance <br />(Note: for instructions on how to replace any items listed below, refer to the product manual. <br />ITEM CHECK REPLACE <br />Lid Gasket Before each use As necessary <br />Safe2Filter Monthly Every 60 daysor600 cans _ <br />Cobalt Points Before each use As necessary <br />Bellow Every 180 days As necessary <br />Operating Clamp Before each use Lubricate regularly with light oil such <br />as 3 -int or WD -40. <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
