Two 55 gallon blue plastic drums which previously held sanitizer were observed outside the south <br /> end of the building without empty labeling. Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a <br /> hazardous material shall be marked as empty with the date they were emptied and managed within one <br /> year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this section. REPEAT <br /> VIOLATION <br /> 605. A 55 gallon black steel drum of spent absorbent was observed in the hazardous waste storage area <br /> with no hazardous property or accumulation start date. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked <br /> with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties (flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> 4. physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. Since it cannot be determined how long the spent absorbent has been on site, immediately <br /> contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of <br /> the manifest to the EHD by October 19, 2012. REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 701. A 55 gallon black steel drum of paint related material was observed in the hazardous waste storage <br /> area with an accumulation start date of August 5, 2011. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of <br /> hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store <br /> waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this <br /> waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD by October 19, 2012. REPEAT <br /> VIOLATION <br /> 703. An emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan information is lacking. There must be at <br /> least one emergency coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and <br /> the following information must be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency <br /> coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the <br /> phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm. Immediately appoint an <br /> emergency coordinator and post the required information by a phone. A form is provided that can be <br /> used for this purpose. Submit proof of correction to the EHD by October 19, 2012.
