G LFR 0 0 1
remedial activities successfully removed residual contamination unrelated to the release. ,
Additional excavation in the manifold area is not feasible due to limitations imposed by active '
facility infrastructure.
Confirmation soil sample data indicate that residual petroleum hydrocarbons are still present within ,
the manifold area. The site is currently under a monitored natural attenuation (MNA) program as
the remedy for groundwater cleanup at the site. The MNA program includes contingency plans
that could be implemented in the event that free product is detected in site monitoring wells, or if '
land use in the vicinity changes. The RWQCB approved MNA as the remedy for groundwater at
the site in a letter to SFPP dated 25 March 2005. A feasibility evaluation of the petroleum
hydrocarbons detected in soil after completion of response and remedial activities associated with ,
the transmix pump back-pressure valve release will be completed and submitted to the RWQCB by
October 30, 2006.
Closing ,
We appreciate your assistance on this project.
