This manual
will replace the old process water log book. Wastewater is considered to
be any water which passes through the oil/water separator. It' s basic
components are the below ground oil/water separator and it' s related
pumps and piping and the black poly tank and it's piping to the City
sewer.
There are four drains that tie into the OWS. SN-1, SN-2, and SN-6 all
have funnels at the bottom draws and there is one more funnel by the
firewall that can be used to divert a spill from the manifold area.
These all pass through the debris trap (large round diamond plate cover)
and then into the main chamber of the OWS. The debris trap has a valve
on a T-handle that is normally open. Water and oil are then separated
into two chambers. These chambers have automatic pumps on them. The
water is pumped to the black poly tank and any product would he pumped
to SN-6. The valve on the oil chamber pump to SN-6 is normally open.
There are HI and HI-HI alarms on both chambers. There is a HI and HI-HI
alarm on the black poly tank.
Note: There is also a T-handle valve at the debris trap to allow
draining the tank farm through the sump. This valve is normally
closed. If there was a product spill in the tank farm we could
open this valve to route the product through the OWS to SN-6 .
