Metal twists generated from the drill press are being disposed of in the trash without first determining particle size or hazardous properties. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately disposing of metals to the trash, make a hazardous waste determination for the drill press waste, and manage it according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Metal particles 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. This is a minor violation. 103 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) No modified contingency plan. An emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan information is lacking. The modified contingency plan on site contained outdated emergency coordinators for this site, including Chuck Schad, who is no longer with this facility. There must be at least one emergency coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and the following information must be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm.
