' Site Safety Plan <br /> Job No. 4780200 Page 6 <br /> V. HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Employee Training <br /> All employees with the potential for hazardous exposures are required to obtain <br /> 40 hours of Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response Training in <br /> compliance with Code 29 of the Federal Regulations, 1910.120. Employees <br /> at the Project Manager level or higher must also participate in an additional 8- <br /> hour supervisory training course. Following the above-listed training, <br /> employees receive a certificate of completion and attend an 8-hour refresher <br /> ' training session within one year of their initial training as well as an annual <br /> medical evaluation. <br /> ' B. Site Engineering Controls <br /> Airborne particulates of contaminants can create a potential health hazard. To <br /> diminish airborne particulates, dust control measures will be implemented as <br /> required. <br /> C. Project Information Program <br /> Prior to the onset of activities within the Exclusion zone, a documented site <br /> safety meeting will be held with all concerned workers to discuss potential <br /> ' hazards and required PPE. During this meeting, information regarding air <br /> monitoring results, soil sampling results, material handling procedures, accident <br /> reporting procedures, and any other pertinent site safety related information will <br /> ' be disseminated. <br /> ' D. First Aid Equipment <br /> Vehicles used for site work will be equipped with a first aid kit and safety <br /> ' equipment including cones and barricades, fire extinguisher, water suitable for <br /> drinking, and a portable eye wash. <br /> tE. Work Zone Access <br /> tFor health and safety purposes, the site will be divided into three zones: the <br /> Exclusion Zone, the Decontamination Zone, and the Support Zone. Entering the <br /> ' Exclusion Zone is prohibited to all but approved field personnel. The Exclusion <br /> Zone will constitute the area where work is being conducted and a 30-foot <br /> radius around this area.
