0 JUL 01 2016 <br /> Preventative Maintenance Guide(PMG)was generated to outline this policy and describe the proper <br /> labelling requirements and effected employees trained.A copy of this PMG can be found in Appendix A. <br /> Safety Kleen has picked up these filters, and a copy of the manifest is found in Appendix B. <br /> Notice to Comply (Item#605): CCR 66262.34(f)Failed to completely label containers or tanks of <br /> hazardous waste. <br /> 1)Metal fines were stored in an open container labeled as only as "waste metal shavings/fines", located <br /> inside the repair shop. Based on the return to compliance certification received on 11-10-2011 metal <br /> fines "metal shavings, sweep metal residue" will be handled as hazardous waste. <br /> 2)One red metal container storing oily rags,labeled as "empty every night",was noted inside the <br /> mechanic shop area.This container was full of oily rags, and according to facility's personnel is being <br /> disposed of as hazardous waste.Also, according to Mr. Mark McPherson,this container is being emptied <br /> on a quarterly basis into the main hazardous waste storage area. <br /> 3)One 55-gallon container of oily absorbent(located in the hazardous waste storage area)lacked <br /> hazardous properties on its label; this label was corrected at the time of inspection. <br /> 4) One 55-gallon container of ammonia filters (located in the hazardous waste storage area), lacked an <br /> accumulation start date on its label. <br /> 5)Four liter amber container of waste sulfuric mixture, located in the onsite laboratory, lacked hazardous <br /> properties and physical state on its label.This was corrected onsite. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> -the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> -name and address of generator <br /> -hazardous properties <br /> -physical state <br /> -composition(contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the <br /> required information. Submit proof of correction to the EHD. <br /> Actions Taken: 1)A Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) and Preventative Maintenance Guide (PMG) <br /> was generated to outline this policy and describe the proper handling and disposal of small metal fines <br /> and effected employees trained.A copy of this SOP and PMG can be found in Appendix A. 2)A <br /> Preventative Maintenance Guide(PMG)was generated to outline this policy and describe the proper <br /> handling and disposal of oily rags and effected employees trained.A copy of this PMG can be found in <br /> Appendix A.
