Page 3 <br /> EXHIBIT III <br /> RESPONSE TO PCB SPILL AT DRIER CONTROL ROOM <br /> STAGE 1 SPILL - Non-critical <br /> Place container under leak or place absorbant blanket or oil <br /> absorbant material under leak. Post guard and rope off area <br /> and continue to monitor leak. Keep ail unauthorized employees <br /> from area. <br /> STAGE 2 SPILL - Critical <br /> Post guard and rope off area. Remove all pulp from immediate <br /> area to avoid possible contamination. Shut down all pulp <br /> production and pellet production. Pile pressed pulp in an <br /> area well away from possible contamination. <br /> STAGE 3, 4 AND 5 <br /> Follow all steps under stage 2 spill . Dike off area with <br /> dirt to stop any liquid PCB going to waste. <br /> RESPONSE TO PCB SPILL INTO WASTE WATER SYSTEM <br /> 1 . Post guard and rope off area. <br /> 2. Stop all withdrawals from ponds such as irrigation. <br /> 3. Continue waste water flow into contaminated pond until such <br /> time as it is determined that it is clean and then transfer <br /> stream to a clean pond. <br /> RESPONSE TO PCB SPILL AT WINTER BEET STORAGE AREA <br /> 1 . Post guard and rope off area. <br /> 2. Remove all uncontaminated beets stored in area to avoid <br /> contamination. <br /> Rope off and post all contaminated beets as being not <br /> available for slicing. <br /> 4. Stop all truck traffic t'hru contaminated area . <br /> S. Fence off contaminated areas in cattle pens and isolate <br /> any cattle which may have come in contact. <br />
