One major goal has been the reduction of water pumped to the waste <br /> water ponds. When the factory was constructed, 8-9000 gom was discharged <br /> from the factory grounds. With the completion of the water reclamation <br /> project, the flow to the waste water system will be approximately 1000 <br /> gpm, a substantial reduction. <br /> Listed below are the various items with a time table and a brief <br /> description of each. <br /> 259 <br /> 1. Install a pulp dryer to dry wet pulp which was the reason that the <br /> Moffat Feed Lots were on the factory grounds. <br /> 1960 <br /> 1. Planted 70 acres of almond trees as a buffer between the community <br /> north of Yosemite Avenue. <br /> 1960-63 <br /> 1. Removal of the Moffat Feed Yard. <br /> 1963 <br /> 1. Install cooing tower and Factory became self contained and no water <br /> was released from the factory grounds. <br /> 9 <br /> 1. Purchase 27 ac=es of land for irrigation use. <br /> 1966 <br /> 1. Purchase 38 acres of land for irrigation use. <br /> 1967 <br /> 1. Installed screens to remove particles of beets and grass before water <br /> flows to waste water system. <br /> 2. Improve waste water pond circulation system with guidance from Dr. <br /> Oswald from U. C. Berkeley. <br /> 3.. Purchased 44 acres for waste water disposal area. <br /> (4) <br />
