Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> RE : December 13 , 1995 response from Jerry Tucker, Chief <br /> Chemist, to the November 10, 1995 Hazardous Waste <br /> Inspection report . <br /> Waste Minimization: <br /> Para 2A: Used oil is designated as a hazardous waste in <br /> California by California Health & Safety Code, Title 22 <br /> Division 20, Section 25250 .4 . Used oil generated by <br /> industrial machinery is not exempt and is to be <br /> manifested, counted, and reported in the Hazardous <br /> Waste Generator total . <br /> Used oil generated from a motor vehicle can be <br /> recycled. It can be hauled by a licensed waste oil <br /> hauler for recycling and does not need to be reported <br /> in the Hazardous Waste Generator total . The receipts <br /> given by the hauler must be retained for three years . <br /> If spent industrial oils are combined with spent <br /> lubricating fluids which have been removed from a motor <br /> vehicle, the resulting used oil combination is not <br /> exempt and is to be manifested, counted, and reported <br /> in the Hazardous Waste Generator total . <br /> During the November 9, 1995 inspection, I reviewed <br /> waste manifests for the year 1994 totaling 12 . 1 ton. <br /> Combined used oil sent under manifest from Spreckles <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
