l <br /> r Containment of Hazardous Waste <br /> And Spills <br /> Hazardous Waste containment is a serious problem and you must always <br /> follow the following procedures. You must inspect the container that you are <br /> going to fill with the waste before you start. <br /> • Check the container for any visible rust, cracks, or holes. <br /> • Check to make sure the container is properly labeled. <br /> • Check to make sure the container has a cap or bung before filling. <br /> Once you have assured that the container is in proper condition you can make <br /> the transfer. If a spill occurs, immediately dike around to help prevent the <br /> spill to get larger. Obtain the spill kit and proceed to clean the spill up. After <br /> you have successfully cleaned the spill you know have to properly dispose of <br /> the sweepings in the proper waste container. YOU MUST ALWAYS NOTIFY <br /> YOUR SUPERVISOR OR MANAGEMENT OFANYAND ALL SPILLS! <br /> AND ALWAYS WEAR YOUR PROPER PPE- SAFETY GLASSES OR GOGGLES <br /> AND GLOVES. <br /> Housekeeping is everyone's responsibility and should be taken seriously. <br /> Even if you did not create the mess, we must all work together to keep the <br /> shop and dock and yard clean of debris and spills. Spills create more than just <br /> a slipping hazard it also effects our environment. <br />
