One AAA battery was left outside next to the three used oil filters that leaked oil on the parking lot. <br />Universal Waste(UW) batteries must be stored in a manner that prevents breakage and release to the <br />environment. Damaged UW batteries must be stored in a closed, structurally sound container that is <br />compatible with the battery and its contents. Correct immediately by properly managing any UW battery <br />according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. <br />804. A dilapidated box of UW lamps(at least one UW lamp was broken)were not stored in a closed <br />container. A UW handler shall manage lamps in a way that prevents releases of any UW or component <br />of a UW to the environment. A UW handler shall contain any lamp in a container or package that is <br />structurally sound, adequate to prevent breakage, and compatible with the contents of the lamp. Such a <br />container or package shall remain closed and shall lack evidence of leakage or damage that could <br />cause leakage under reasonably foreseeable conditions. Correct immediately by storing UW lamps into <br />a proper container and close it. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this <br />waste was managed by May 29, 2013- <br />806. Seven UW electronics units were left outside at the southwest corner of the parking lot. A facility <br />must store a UW electronic in a manner that prevents breakage and release to the environment. Correct <br />immediately by storing all UW electronics in a manner that prevents breakage and release to the <br />environment. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was <br />managed by May 29, 2013. <br />808. Seven UW electronics units were left outside at the southwest corner of the parking lot. These UW <br />electronics were not labeled as a Universal Waste. A UW handler shall label or mark UW to identify the <br />type of waste. Electronics (i.e., each electronic), or a container in which the electronics(s) are contained, <br />shall be labeled or marked clearly with the following phrase: "Universal Waste-electronic(s)". Ensure that <br />the necessary precautions are taken to correct mark UW to identify the type of waste. Submit a <br />statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed by May 29, 2013, <br />808.
