STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE <br /> Procedure#: DRAFT Title: <br /> Issue#: 1 Emergency Procedures: <br /> Issue Date: 4/27/2004 Earthquake I N L A N D <br /> Supersedes Date: None ATemMe-I s Co-ya" <br /> 6.1 If you are inside <br /> Take cover under a desk or strong table or in a doorway or sit or stand against an inside wall. <br /> Be prepared for aftershocks. <br /> Story Inside the Building <br /> Stay away from windows,glass,bookcases,and outside doors. <br /> Watch for falling plaster,bricks,light fixtures,and other objects. <br /> Do Not Use the Telephones <br /> If the earthquake should be followed by fire,then follow procedures that are included in the <br /> Emergency Procedures: Fire Response. <br /> Do Not light a cigarette or strike a match until gas lines are checked. <br /> Do not attempt to leave the building during a severe earthquake because of the hazards of <br /> downed power lines,falling debris,etc. <br /> Keep away from file cabinets and other heavy objects. <br /> Shut off gas lines,flammable liquid lines,and electrical power. <br /> Await instructions from a member of management. <br /> 6.2 If you are outside <br /> • Move away from buildings and utility wires. <br /> • Watch for falling glass,electrical wires,poles,or other debris. <br /> • Stay out of damaged buildings(An aftershock can shake them down). <br /> 6.3 A member of management will initiate Corporate, State,and Local Crisis Contacts as <br /> outlined in SMS Chapter 14 Appendix A. <br /> 7.0 Documeutation <br /> 7.1 SMS Chapter 14 Appendix A: <br /> Issued By Jim Dacayanan Authorized By:Nick Perino Page 2 of 2 <br /> x attachments) <br />
