Use of the Bomb/Terrorist Threat Checklist will help facilitate this. <br /> A copy of the Bomb/Terrorist Threat Checklist is at the end of this SOP. Copies should also be kept at <br /> all strategic phones for easy access in the event of an emergency. <br /> 6.2 Step One <br /> Notify one of the members of the Management Team immediately after getting the call. Start with the <br /> General Manager and work down the list in order:General Manager,Production Manager, <br /> Manufacturing Coordinator,Shift Facilitator. <br /> Step Two <br /> The notified manager or team member will call the fire department and sheriff's department(9-911). <br /> Step Three <br /> At this point,the manager in charge will make a decision about evacuating the facility. If the facility is <br /> evacuated,it will be done following the evacuation plan. <br /> Step Four <br /> If the threat is genuine and the facility is evacuated,a thorough search will be made by the fire <br /> department and sheriffs department before anyone returns to the building. <br /> Step Five <br /> Employees will not return to the facility until the manager in charge gives approval. <br /> Point to Remember <br /> Do not call 911 unless you are in immediate danger and are unable to call a supervisor. <br /> 6.3 If there Is a Bomb or Suspicious Package <br /> • Contact a supervisor first and describe package. Provide the following details: size, <br /> color,and markings. <br /> • Give location of the object: building,floor,room number,work area description and <br /> proximity to utilities if known. <br /> • Do not touch any suspicious packages or letters. Preserve the items for inspection. <br /> • If there is a Letter or written message: <br /> • Do not further handle or photocopy a letter or written message. <br /> • Report all details to and give written message or letter to a supervisor immediately. <br /> 6.4 If you receive a telephone threat <br /> • Listen carefully to the caller's voice,any background noise,what the caller is saying, <br /> and make notes-Use the bomb/terrorist threat checklist. <br /> • Do not interrupt the caller.
