CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> ORDER NO. <br /> WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> FOR <br /> CLASS II SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT <br /> MUSCO OLIVE PRODUCTS, INC. <br /> THE STUDLEY COMPANY AND <br /> TRACY PLANT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, <br /> (hereafter Board), finds that: <br /> 1. Musco Olive Products, Inc. owns and operates an olive brining facility five <br /> miles southwest of Tracy (see Attachment A). <br /> 2. A Class II surface impoundment will be located on the property owned by <br /> Studley Company and leased by Musco Olive Products, Inc. This property is <br /> described by Assessor' s Parcel Number 209-110-14. Musco Olive Products, <br /> Inc. and the Studley Company are hereafter the Discharger. <br /> 3. The Discharger submitted a Report of Waste Discharge, dated 24 October <br /> 1983, and additional information periodically until October 1985. The <br /> completed design report and operations plan were submitted in February <br /> 1986. <br /> 4. The Discharger proposes to discharge an average of 45,600 gallons per day <br /> of process wastewater to a 38. 5 acre-foot Class II surface impoundment <br /> (Pond A) in Section 34, T2S, R4E, MOB&M. At the proposed flow rate, the <br /> capacity of this impoundment will be reached in two to three years. The <br /> discharge will take place during the months of October through July. As <br /> currently planned, two additional surface impoundments with 36.0 acre/foot <br /> (Pond B) and 17.8 acre/foot capacity (Pond C) will be constructed in 1990 <br /> and 1992, respectively. <br /> 5. The beneficial Uses of the ground water beneath the site are: industrial , <br /> domestic and agricultural supply. There are six wells within 5,000 feet of <br /> the site, screened between 80 and 600 feet below ground surface. The ,uses <br /> of water from these wells are domestic, agricultural and industrial <br /> supply. <br /> 6. The Discharger reports that one small perched ground water zone was <br /> encountered during a ground water investigation of the site. The Dis- <br /> charger concludes that this zone does not extend beneath the entire site. <br />
