3-05. DISPOSAL. OF TANKS: A] 1 tanks except concrete truck located in <br /> warehouse 28 s 1 become the property of the Contractor and shall be <br /> cut-up for scrap metal per paragraph 2-09.2. The Contractor shall <br /> certify in writing that he will not reuse the tanks for any purpose and <br /> that he will not dispose of said tanks in a manner that would permit <br /> their reuse. <br /> 3-05.1 Tank in Warehouse 28: The sand inside the tank shall be <br /> tested per Table-1 , page 3-04. Test samples must be <br /> representative of the entire depth of the tank. If test <br /> results verify contaminated sand, the sand is to be removed <br /> by the Contractor and placed in Government furnished <br /> containers. Disposal of filled containers shall be the <br /> responsibility of the Government. If test results verify no <br /> contamination, the sand shall be used as backfill. The <br /> concrete tank shall be disposed in the State approved Class } <br /> 1 landfill. The concrete tank must be transported by <br /> California State licensed Hazardous Waste Hauler. A <br /> California State Waste hauler Manifest must be used. All <br /> manifesting shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> Written verification of disposal including copies of the <br /> manifest will be signed by the Glass 1 landfill operator and <br /> shall be provided to the Contracting Officer. Disposal <br /> shall meet the requirements of the State of California, <br /> California Administrative Code, Title 23, Division 4. <br /> 3-05.2 Tank in Warehouse 247: After the tank has been excavated and <br /> emptied of its contents, the tank shall be moved 5 to 10 <br /> feet away from the excavated area and the following work <br /> shall be performed. Triple rinse tank (flush tank three <br /> times) , each time using a volume of rinse solution equal. to <br /> approximately 107 of the tank's capacity. Rinse solution <br /> shall be determined by the Contractor and shall be of <br /> sufficient composition to neutralize contents of the tank. <br /> Rinse solution is to be sprayed over the entire internal <br /> area of the tank. Rinse solution shall be pumped by the <br /> Contractor into Government furnished containers after each <br /> rinse. Disposal of filled containers is the responsibility <br /> of the Government. The tank shall be cut-up for scrap metal <br /> per paragraph 2-09.2. <br /> 3-06. PROVISION OF BAaU= MATERIAL: Tank locations tested and found to be <br /> contam,n,+t , t ntractor s ll only provide and deliver equivalent <br /> quantity of backfill material to area designated by the Contracting <br /> Officer. Backfilling shall be performed by the Government at a later <br /> date. The Contactor shall also perform work as specified in Section 2, <br /> paragraph 2-03. <br /> 3-02 <br />
