The On-Scene Emergency Coordinator has the primary responsibility to notify the proper emergency <br /> response personnel and secure the area until the arrival of fire,police, emergency management, or <br /> health personnel Additionally,the coordinator is responsible for providing technical assistance to <br /> fire, police, emergency management, or health personnel. The Alternate On-Scene Emergency <br /> Coordinator will perform these duties in the absence or delay of the Emergency Coordinator. <br /> Employees of the facility will be trained in the proper emergency procedures outlined in this plan. <br /> In the absence of or prior to the arrival of the Emergency Coordinator or Alternate, the employees <br /> will be expected to implement these procedures to swiftly mitigate emergency situations. <br /> E. RESPONSIBILITIES OF ON-SCENE FACILITY'S EMERGENCY COORDINATOR <br /> It is the responsibility of the On-Scene Emergency Coordinator(or Alternate Emergency Coordinator) <br /> to respond immediately to all petroleum products incidents by implementing the following response <br /> procedures: <br /> I. Notify Local Police/Fire Department- Specify: <br /> • Exact location of facility <br /> • Hazardous materials incident <br /> • Gasoline spill, if applicable <br /> Quantity of spill, if applicable <br /> Injuries, if any <br /> Threat of fire <br /> Storm drain system threatened <br /> All other information requested <br /> 2. Notify San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> Repeat information given to local Police/Fire Department <br /> 3. Call Safeway main office(925)467-3000 <br /> Repeat information given to local Police/Fire Department <br /> In case of a large spill from a tanker truck, it is recommended that the designated hazardous <br /> materials contractor and pump truck be dispatched immediately. <br /> 4. Listen for instructions from Police Department, Fire Department, Health Department and <br /> Safeway Inc. <br /> 5. Make no more calls after instructions from Safeway Inc.are received. Designate one person to <br /> wait for emergency personnel to either call or arrive. <br /> 6. Have any other station personnel assist customers safely off the site and prevent additional <br /> customers from entering the site. <br /> 7996.001 [SHK/bgl <br />
