Tank aboveground
Participants
A BMC engineer will be at the BMC control center guiding and overseeing the work.
The BMC engineer will have complete authority to accept or reject testing results.
As often as possible the FAS will perform the field inspection, testing and
calibration of control points and alarms.
Electricians will be required to disassemble high voltage electrical panels and perform
high voltage testing.
Generator technicians may be required to troubleshoot generator-related problems.
UPS vendor may be required to troubleshoot UPS related problems.
Fire alarm systems vendor may be required to troubleshoot Halon, fire alarm and Vesda
related problems.
Time Work to be Performed
The revalidation will be performed during normal working hours.
Where work involves normal accepted Sprint practices and requirements for after hour
jeopardy work those guidelines will be followed.
Examples of after hours jeopardy work would include work being performed in electrical
panels, operation of a generator where building power load would be transferred to the
generator.
.Any work needing to be done over and around switching equipment that could result in
damage occurring to equipment, etc.
Space Temperatures
The FAS will take the space temperature and verify reading at BMC. The FAS will then
slowly elevate the area around the sensor using a hot air device such as a blow dryer.
The BMC will then verify temperature alarms at the various temperature alarm levels.
If a sensor is within 5 degrees of field reading then it may be software calibrated.
If it is not within 5 degrees or does not respond to surrounding temperature change then it
will be replaced.
2
