Schreder Construction <br /> DESCRIPTION <br /> The work involved in this project consist of the removal of two underground <br /> storage tanks are located at the same site. (See attached plot plans). The tanks <br /> being disposed of is one (1) 10,000 gallon gasoline tank and one (1) 5,000 gallon <br /> diesel tank. <br /> The existing underground storage tanks will be removed and the excavation area <br /> will be backfilled. <br /> TANK PREPARATION AND EXCAVATION <br /> The underground storage tanks will be exposed and inerted by inserting dry ice (15 <br /> lbs per 1,000 gallon of tank) into the underground storage tank. The underground <br /> storage tank will then be checked with a LEL meter and oxygen meter to be sure <br /> that the underground storage tank atmosphere is below the lower explosive limit <br /> before removal. <br /> Prior to the tank removal, the excavated soil removed from around the tank will be <br /> placed on 10 mil visqueen to prevent any contamination of the surroundings area. <br /> After the inertion process the underground storage tank will be excavated and <br /> removed from the excavation and placed onto a truck and transported to a disposal <br /> facility.
