" WHAT LAS EVR MEAN FOR GASOLINE
DISPEN U FACILITY OPERATORS?
DPW 61 JSK-4400-EVR Some jurisdictions are already adopting EVR.
JACK SCREW I r Others are considering adopting EVR or certain
portions of the requirements. Still others are taking
a wait and see position as EVR progresses. One
:E thing is certain: virtually all jurisdictions will accept
new EVR equipment; some will not accept old
CARB-approved equipment.
SHOULD YOU CONSIDER UPGRADING TO
THE NEW EVR EQUIPMENT?
Some important facts to consider when developing
an equipment strategy in the face of the uncertain
OPW 1 DK-2100-EVR regulatory environment:
DRAIN VALVE 1. Equipment certified under previous CARB
regulations is decertified as the new EVR
standards take effect. There is no mechanism
OPW 61 SO-40OC-EVR SERIES by which this equipment can become re -certified
OVERFILL PREVENTION VALVE - to the old standards. Likewise, no new or
improved equipment can become certified to
the old CARB requirements (CARB will only
\ certify equipment to the new EVR requirements).
The old CARB regulations, and therefore
equipment approved under the previous
CARB requirements, will become, obsolete.
SEALED 2. It seems inevitable that EVR will becur.)-the
[r PIVOT new standard in many jurisdictions. Now that EVR
equipment is available, jurisdictions that follow
CARB will be compelled to adopt the new, more
stringent EVR standards.
t; 3. The performance of the new EVR equipment
is superior. The EVR requirements and testing
{ protocol force manufacturers to develop more
robust, ever tighter, and more reliaole producr:
THREADED 4. Installing EVR certified equiprneW provides a
LOWER higher level of protection against fugitive emissons
USA Patent No. 4,986,:x.': TUBE and pressure decay test failures.
5,564,464; 5,174,341,
5,472,012; 5,850,849 5. Installing EVR certified equiprnem provides a
safe fueling environment and enhances air quality.
DPW 6111-1400 WHY LOOK TO (OW FOR "(,UR
TANK BOTTOM PROTECTOR VAPOR RECOVERY EQUIPMENT?
/ Significant engineering and financial resources
are required to meet the design and certification
challenges imposed on manufacturers by EVR. As
the industry leader in Vapor Recovery equipment,
OPW has the necessary resources and commitment
to continually
meet these challenges.
