In the event of a fire,hazardous material spill,or an earthquake... <br /> Follow these steps immediately! <br /> 1. Tum off the pumps by pressing the"stop button"on the attendant's console. Should the flow of <br /> hydrocarbons continue,or you cannot use the console,turn off the emergency shutoff switch on the <br /> electrical panel. <br /> 2. Announce over the public address system: <br /> "There is a(fire)(dangerous spill)in the facility. Please tum off your engines and leave the <br /> station on foot...immediately!" <br /> If you do not have a public address system at your store,yell the above statement. <br /> 3. Call help by dialing 9-1-1 and giving the following information: <br /> "There is a(fire)(dangerous spill)at Beacon Station#3698 located at 153 East 11th Street. <br /> Tracy." <br /> If anyone is trapped or needs attention,tell the answering dispatcher. Stay on the phone and be <br /> prepared to answer questions about the situation. - - <br /> If the facility phone is not accessible,use the nearest public phone. <br /> 4. Look around to insure that all employees and customers have left the facility,particularly those in <br /> vehicles who made need assistance or did not hear the announcement. Assist or direct assistance to <br /> any customer having difficulty leaving the station area. <br /> 5. Secure the area to prevent any unnecessary vehicle entry. <br /> 6. Attend to the injured and direct medical response to them. <br /> 7. Attempt to extinguish any fire if you can do so safely. If the fire is small,the fire extinguisher should <br /> be used to extinguish it. If the fire is large or spreading,or you determine that there is a potential <br /> danger of explosion or personal injury,do not attempt to put out the fire with the fire extinguisher. If <br /> a fire or explosion requires you to evacuate the facility,lock the cash drawer and leave the facility. <br /> 8. Attempt to contain any hazardous material spill utilizing an absorbent material. <br /> 9. Report to arriving emergency response personnel to provide them any information or assistance they <br /> may require. <br /> 10.
