23 March 2004
AGE-NC Project No. 03-1055
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds:
• The highest concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel in
soil were detected in samples collected near the former location of wells MW-2 and MW-3,
in the area of the former fuel dispensers.
• AGE calculates that approximately 70.79 gallons or 200.96 kg of gasoline were removed in
the soil excavated during the UST removal and interim remediation on the site in October
and November 2003.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends:
• Implementation of a work plan to assess the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water.
• Installation of proposed ground water monitoring wells.
• Abandonment and replacement of MW-5 due to inadvertent damage of the grout seal.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory.Evaluation of the hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points(soil and water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points. No
other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the professional recommendations contained in
this report.
"' Advanced CeoEnvh onmental.Inc.
