• <br /> J U N 9 1988 <br /> ENVIROMENTAL <br /> TN <br /> Facility : Pacific Sell (UE-148) <br /> FERM1T/aEhZVCh6 <br /> Redwood and Sixth Sts. <br /> French Camp <br /> DETECTION OF LEADS IN SECONDARY SYSTEM <br /> The Joor Manufacturing , Inc . , Plasteel double-wall <br /> tank has a secondary containment capable of containing 110% <br /> of the primary container volume. The tank when installed <br /> will have a slope of 1/8" per foot (minimum) . A Ronan Model <br /> LS-3 liquid sensor will be located at the bottom of the <br /> secondary containment (annular space) on the deeper end . <br /> In the event of a leak , liquid will run down the bottom <br /> of the secondary container to be detected by the sensor. <br /> The sensor in the presence of a liquid will cause the <br /> Ronan Model X76S Leak Detector to activate an onsite aud- <br /> ible alarm and simultaneously telephone an alarm to Pacific <br /> Bell monitoring center . The secondary containment will hold <br /> the leaked liquid until recovery action can be taken . Recov- <br /> ery will be accomplished using suction pump, access to <br /> secondary containment is provided by annular space fill pipe . <br /> Notes concerning Joor double-wall tank manway ( sump) . <br /> The Joor Plasteel double-wall tank as ordered will have <br /> a 304" I . Q. manway collar welded on the top of the tank. <br /> L.B.M. E. Corporation will extend the manway to the manhole <br /> cover using a 30" red thread fiberglass pipe cut to fit , <br /> the joint sealed with fiberglass and epoxy . The manhole <br /> cover will be watertight thus creating a waterproof manway <br /> (sump) environment . The 3/4" black iron fuel return and <br /> suction lines contained in a single fiberglass secondary <br /> pipe leave the manway with an upward slope of 1/8" per <br /> foot (minimun) towards the building. if either fuel return <br /> or suction line develops a leak, the fuel will collect and <br /> run down secondary fiberglass pipe to manway. The liquid <br /> will be detected by a Ronan Model LS-3 liquid sensor plac- <br /> ed at bottom of manway and activate alarms . <br />
