The 90% sensor warns of high level
condition and is connected to an audible on site alarm
system. The 70% and 30% sensors are connected on a tele-
phone system to a Pacific Bell monitoring center and are
for fuel ordering notification, and low fuel warning, re-
spectively. When a low fuel condition warning is received ,
Pacific Bell will notify its fuel supplier to send a truck.
For filling, the tank is equipped with a 5-gallon EBW
#704 fill spill container with drain valve. Before filling,
the supplier will check fuel level by sticking. Having
established the fuel level currently in the tank, the sup-
plier will commence with filling the tank. During filling,
the supplier will continuously monitor fuel level by obser-
ving the Steil Safety Gage , which is accessible by a remov-
able cap in the manhole cover. To guard against overfilling,
the tank is provided with a float valve on the vent line.
The Ronan LS-3 sensor located at 90% tank diameter will
trigger an alarm if the tank is overfilled .
